Books are often called our best friends, and rightly so. A good book can teach us, entertain us, comfort us, and open our minds to new worlds — all without ever asking for anything in return. In a time when many young people spend hours on screens, the simple habit of reading books has become more valuable than ever.
Reading widens our knowledge and improves our language, imagination, and concentration. Through books, we can travel to distant lands, meet great people from history, and learn ideas that took others a lifetime to discover. A student who reads regularly thinks more clearly, writes more beautifully, and understands the world more deeply.
Books also build character. Stories of courage, honesty, and kindness quietly shape the way we think and behave. Even a single book can inspire a person to change their life for the better.
In our school, the library is a treasure house waiting to be explored. I encourage all my friends to make reading a daily habit. Let us read not only our textbooks but also storybooks, biographies, and newspapers. The more we read, the more we grow, for a nation of readers truly becomes a nation of thinkers and leaders.
